Movie Night 07/07: A Boy and His Dog
Posted on July 8th, 2009 No commentsSo last night we watched “A Boy and His Dog“. It wasn’t until after watching the film that I learned of the popular tag line for this film (used in the trailers) “A rather kinky tale of survival”. An accurate description of the film, I feel. I think everyone agreed that it was a unique experience and worth the viewing. And it has a happy ending.

Movie Night: Kung Fu Hustle
Posted on May 1st, 2009 1 commentThis week we watched Kung Fu Hustle. It was my pick and I stand by it. I had forgotten how funny it was, but I just generally think of it with fondness because I think it’s a really well done movie. The story progresses very nicely and it’s got some good surprises. And it has kung fu. The good kind of kung fu. The kind with rediculous animal styles.

Movie Night: Dr Horrible’s Sing Along Blog, Commentary: the Musical
Posted on April 21st, 2009 No commentshttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt1227926/
Tonight we watched Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog, or more accurately Commentary: the Musical. As it turns out the actors, writers and production team decided to forgo the normal movie commentary and instead sing a rather amusing set of songs written specifically for the “commentary”. There was not much of what I would call commentary, but I did discover Ninja Rope (I’ll let you decide from the name if it’s worth looking up). There was a “Making of” section of the DVD which had more… insight into the behinds the scenes (much more commentary if you will). All in all I will probably go ahead and pick up the DVD at some point as I really enjoy just about everything about the production.
