From all indications, I think Nancy Pelosi had a very good day today.
Any bets about whether she will run … maybe six years from now … anybody think two?

Not much of a wait tonight at our little fire station.
There were four issues up for vote in Dane County and all of them have been heavily in the news (some more than others). Here’s the re-cap for those of you not voting in WI:
1) The proposed marriage amendment to the state constitution (the most-heavily discussed issue lately by far)
2) The death penalty (WI does not currently have a death penalty for 1st degree, DNA-convicted homicide)
3) Should an independent study be done for the proposed power line ATC wants to run to bring more power into the state?
4) Should WI work on a state initiative to provide some form of universal healthcare to citizens who need it by 2008?
Very interesting that I have a strong opinion about all of these issues. There are usually a couple of issues I genuinely don’t care about. It has been a very compelling election year.
If you live in WI and haven’t voted, the polls are still open
We winter-proofed most of our windows today. It should help keep our house warmer this winter and reduce our utility bills.
I also picked up an insulating cover for our hot water heater, which is highly recommended to prevent heat loss year-around.
Gruntac and I went shopping, not realizing that PhysOrg intended to pick up insulation kits on the way back from his mom’s, so we have extra kits (to return or save for next year) and one kit for the sliding glass door that we have not yet installed. We might take care of that one tomorrow.
I feel a little more like a homeowner when I am actively paying attention to home maintenance issues
We haven’t raked all of our leaves yet, but that is not a big priority. They’re a bit messy, but it really doesn’t look bad and while some neighbors have piled up or bagged all of their leaves, others have not. No big deal.
Lalala, house …
And a good part of the evening was spent playing WoW. It feels like we’ve had a nice, long, productive weekend and we still have a whole day left!
Ah, I am starting off the day with an organic Protein Warrior drink full of the loving protein power of hemp.
And it’s chocolate.
Hot damn.
