Lord and Lady Babler

by Michael on Nov.17, 2009, under Events

IMG_5417Let it be known that on tenth of October in the year two-thousand and nine Michael Babler and Lisa Tew did wed.   Upon their union they were gifted with land and title becoming Lord and Lady Babler.  The wedding day was a success with many friends and family there to toast the new couple and to share in the health and happiness of all.  Let it be said that no finer time was had by anyone for any reason.

A good omen

On the way home from work last night I saw not one but two rainbows.  I think it’s a good omen.

Lots of little things to do.  Taking care of work things.  Getting lots of excitement from everyone.  Not nervous yet.

Well.. that was fun.

by Michael on Aug.12, 2009, under Events, Gaming, Roleplaying

The summer is by no means over, but I have gotten past the two biggest weekends unscathed (and I had a lot of fun).  I got to see lots of family and friends and spend some quality time with everyone.  I hope everyone else had a good time and I hope that I’ll get to see everyone there next year (and maybe a few more).

I am definitely feeling some winddown after all that, but I’m also feeling some windup for the upcoming wedding (my own).  More on that as it develops.

One of the things that I’m working on a bit is trying to figure out my gaming schedule for the fall.  It looks like Friday night and Sunday afternoon are going to be  the good days, but there’s still more to come.

Summer in swing

by Michael on Jul.01, 2009, under Computers, Events, Gaming

We’ve started down the road of summer activities and I’m already behind.  I need to start scheduling things so that they actually get done.  I tend to follow my schedule well enough, especially if it’s something that needs to get done regularly.  I should read up on RTM and see what kind of habits I can get myself into.

Things on my todo list:

  • I’m going to go ahead and compress all the wedding stuff into a single bullet, but theres a lot to do.
  • Two trips to Jacks, one which still needs a large amount of organization and coordination.
  • Figure out house finance stuff.
  • Clean and organize: room, desk, computers, basement.
  • play World of Warcraft
  • knock out some of the single player games I’ve purchased but haven’t played
  • Budget for next year
  • Plan my Eberron game (possibly for the fall, but maybe further than that).
  • Schedule some RPGA.
  • Go see medical professionals for checkups and physicals and maintenance.

In the meantime, work is going well, and there aren’t too many personal tragedies to deal with (no one I know is threatening suicide or anything over Michael Jackson).  Josh and Betsy will be moving north at the end of the month and so we’ll begin a new era of large amounts of space between us.

So yeah, getting hit with a big bag of life, but I’m enjoying most of it and trying to embrace change and make it work for me.
